Our secluded locations provide a safe haven for the child, where they have the space to reflect, explore, learn and grow.

We have a range of homes which offer individual and small group living. Each of our homes has been carefully chosen and designed to offer a warm and inviting space where children feel comfortable and safe. We create a therapeutic environment around the child which promotes strong relationships and meets their emotional and physical needs.

We take pride in the quality of our homes, which are typically detached, country properties set in their own gardens, chosen for their peaceful and attractive surroundings and family feel. Being located in rural communities, many of our homes have access to farmland, woodland and local wildlife. This offers children the space to relax and experience the beauty of nature, away from previous distractions and the risks associated with urban areas.

Inside our homes, spacious bedrooms for the children provide a cosy and comfortable personal space, whilst communal living areas and spaces for home learning enable our tutors and our carers support the child’s education, social and emotional development and preparation for adulthood.

    The placement was really good and beneficial to me. The staff were all really supportive and nice and always made themselves available to me if I had any problems.     As METCO Officer for Cumbria Police I have regular contact with the team at AWW in relation to vulnerable children at risk of CSE and going missing. If a specific incident has occurred, the Home Manager and I speak on the phone to discuss the best way forward. She also attends CSE risk assessment meetings and we receive Philomena Protocol forms when a young person arrives in placement.
