At Wilderness we are so proud of our colleagues, who go above and beyond to ensure we provide outstanding care for our children every day.
It takes a very special team of people to change a child’s life, and at Wilderness the compassion, commitment and creativity of our colleagues is truly humbling. They are superheroes.
We love to recognise and celebrate the achievements of our colleagues across the organisation for the amazing work they do with, and for, our children. This is why we recently introduced our Wilderness Heroes employee recognition scheme.
Each month, our colleagues have the opportunity to nominate individuals or teams from across the organisation who they feel deserve recognition for their outstanding practise and dedication, and for the way they embody our CARE values. The winning individuals and team each month are celebrated with gift certificates and prizes.
We love reading all the nominations as they show not only the fantastic work our colleagues do, day in day out, but also how much respect and admiration our colleagues have for each other.
Here are some excerpts from some of the most recent nominations:
“Carol is always there to help. As a new Senior myself, I know she is always at the end of the phone, and we are all so grateful to have her here – our little star with a big heart!”
“Helen supports of all her colleagues in the business. It is amazing she has time for everyone. She always focuses on the positive. In her role, she is always there to support her team whilst giving us the opportunities to develop and grow in our areas”.
Our team nominations are often a particular privilege to read, as they show how people from across the organisation all pull together to support each child and make sure they are happy, safe and achieve fantastic outcomes:
“I can’t stress enough how in awe I am of every single one of the team who supported this child; of their resilience, commitment and investment in his future. Despite being really reluctant to be here when he joined us, he now says that for the first time in his life he feels safe. The team were also praised by Ofsted in their recent inspection, who said they have done an outstanding job and they were blown away by the team’s commitment to this child.”
Congratulations to all the winners and nominees, and to all of our colleagues who work tirelessly every day to be the heroes that our children need.
If you feel you could be a hero for our children too, we would love to hear from you. Please find our current vacancies here.
